Privacy Policy
TapChap (by Gream) values your privacy. This policy explains what the app collects, who it is shared with, and what you can ask us to do about it.
Last updated: 18 August 2026
Information We Collect
Account and profile
- Name, email address, phone number and the location you write on your profile
- Profile photo, bio, and the topics or services you list
- For providers: business details, service categories, prices and verification documents
Location
- Your device’s coordinates, when you grant permission, so a request can be matched with providers in your area
- Your region, derived from those coordinates and saved to your profile
Content you create
- Posts, photos, videos and captions you publish
- Messages, images and voice notes you send in chat
- Bookings, orders, reviews and support requests
Payments
- Wallet balances, deposits and withdrawals
- The payment reference and payer name you enter when depositing, and the mobile number, network and account name you enter when withdrawing
- We do not receive or store card numbers, PINs or mobile money passwords. You pay in your own mobile money app; we only see what you type in so we can identify the transfer.
Device and usage
- Device model, operating system, app version and crash diagnostics
- A push notification token, so we can send you notifications
- An installation identifier used to recognise this install of the app
- Which posts you view, like or contribute to, and what you search for
- For providers who set themselves online: a periodic signal that the app is open, so customers are not matched with someone unreachable
How We Use Your Information
- To run the app: accounts, bookings, orders, chat, payments and notifications
- To match requests with providers near you
- To show you content and stores that are relevant
- To measure how features are used and to fix problems
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to meet legal obligations
Camera, Microphone and Photos
TapChap asks for your camera, microphone and photo library only when you use a feature that needs them — taking a picture, recording a voice note, or attaching media to a post or message. They are never accessed in the background.
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of providers to run the app. They process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes, except where stated.
- Supabase — hosts our database, file storage and sign-in.
- Expo (EAS) — delivers the app and its updates, and routes push notifications.
- Meta (Facebook) — receives app events for advertising measurement. See below.
- Apple and Google — distribute the app and provide the advertising identifiers described below.
Analytics
We record how the app is used — screens opened, posts viewed, features tapped — so we can see what works and what does not. This is tied to your account so that your own activity stays consistent across your devices. We do not sell this data.
Advertising and Tracking
TapChap runs advertising campaigns to reach new users. To measure whether those campaigns work, the app sends Meta three signals: that the app was installed, that it was opened, and that a sign-up was completed. These carry no name, email or phone number.
Measurement uses your device’s advertising identifier:
- On iPhone and iPad, the app asks your permission first, through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, no advertising identifier is used and measurement falls back to Apple’s own aggregated reporting. You can change your answer at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking.
- On Android, the app uses the Google Advertising ID. You can reset it or turn off ad personalisation in Settings › Google › Ads.
Some banners inside TapChap are paid placements by businesses on the platform. They are labelled Ad. They are chosen by us, not by an outside ad network, and no personal data is shared with the advertiser when one is shown to you.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared only:
- with the service providers listed above, to operate the app
- with the other party to a booking, order or chat — a provider sees what they need to do the job, and a seller sees what they need to fulfil an order
- publicly, for anything you choose to publish, such as posts and profile details
- where the law requires it
Data Retention
We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, personal data is removed. Records of completed transactions may be kept where we are required to keep them, and backups may retain data for up to 90 days before they are overwritten.
Your Rights
You can:
- Access the data we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong, from your profile or by writing to us
- Delete your account and its data — from Profile › Delete Account in the app, or at this page
- Withdraw consent for tracking, location or notifications at any time in your device settings
- Object or complain if you believe your data has been handled wrongly
Write to info@greamcompany.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
TapChap is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.
Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and stored on managed infrastructure with access controls. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects you, we will update the date at the top and, where the change is significant, tell you in the app.
